The short version: We only collect your email address for the waitlist. Your camera footage never touches our servers—it stays entirely on your device.
What We Collect
Waitlist Information
When you join our waitlist, we collect:
- Email address — So we can notify you when Veilix HomeWatch launches and send occasional updates about our progress
- Signup timestamp — To manage our waitlist queue fairly
- Source reference — How you found us (e.g., footer signup, homepage), which helps us understand what's working
That's it. We don't collect your name, location, phone number, or any other personal information during the waitlist phase.
Website Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how people use our website. This includes:
- Pages visited
- General geographic region (country level only)
- Device type and browser
- Referral source
We do not use invasive tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or sell any data to third parties.
What We Don't Collect
This is the important part. Veilix HomeWatch is designed so that we cannot access your camera footage or recordings. Here's what we never have access to:
- Video footage — All recordings are processed and stored locally on your iPhone. We have zero access.
- Audio recordings — Same as video. Never leaves your device.
- Motion detection data — Processed entirely on-device using Apple's Core ML.
- Your location — We don't track where your cameras are located.
- Network information — We don't scan or store details about your home network.
How We Use Your Information
Email Communication
We use your email address to:
- Notify you when Veilix HomeWatch launches
- Send occasional product updates (no more than once per month during pre-launch)
- Respond to support inquiries you initiate
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send.
Email Service Provider
We use Amazon Simple Email Service (AWS SES) to send emails. This means your email address is processed through Amazon's infrastructure, which is subject to Amazon's Privacy Policy. AWS SES is SOC-certified and GDPR-compliant.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies:
- Essential cookies — Required for basic website functionality (e.g., remembering if you've already signed up for the waitlist)
- Analytics cookies — Privacy-respecting analytics to understand site usage. These do not track you across other websites.
